3D Reconstruction Method of Leather Fiber Bundle Weaving Network

Abstract

A 3D reconstruction method of leather fiber bundles and theirweaving network was developed. The main steps included: leathermetallographic sample preparation, sequential section imagesacquisition, registration and alignment, image preprocessing and3D reconstruction. Metallographic sample preparation and layerby-layer grinding methods were used to obtain sequential sectionsimages. 3D-Doctor medical reconstruction software was used toimplement the 3D reconstruction of leather fiber bundles. Featuresand cautions of each step were discussed, and some reconstructionresults were displayed.
