A Non-destructive Evaluation of Fluffiness of Leather

Abstract

Many of the comfort related properties of leather are generallyassessed subjectively by experience sorters. Fluffiness is one suchcomfort related property of leather which not only gives volumeto the leather, but provides insulation because of entrapped air.The testing method reported in this paper is a new concept inthe objective measurement of the fluffiness of leather which isnon- destructive in nature and should be valuable to the leatherindustry.
