Abstract: The use of Medications particularly Suboxone or Subutex for opiate addiction have become increasingly popular. However there are many components to the topic that often leave the medication recipients feeling stigmatized. The purpose of the study is to get the truth about the matter from those individuals that are currently being treated for opiate addiction with medication.Understanding the client perspective is critical when evaluating treatment options. In addition reviewing important literature from proponents and opponents will help to draw a more definitive answer and conclusion to the issue. Is MAT here to stay, and should it really be considered the "gold" standard in treatment for opiate use disorders? Also understanding the factors of current treatment practices for best possible outcomes is imperative.
