Abstract: Worldwide, there are currently 46 million people living with some form of dementia and a new case is diagnosed every three seconds. By 2050, it is estimated that there will be over 131 million new diagnoses of Alzheimer's or other forms of Dementia. The purpose of this project is to show how early education improves quality of life for patients with dementia and their caregivers. This project educated middle-aged adults with parents at risk for Dementia on the disease process, current resources already available and financial aspects of care through a multimedia presentation. A pre- and post- assessment was used to assess the knowledge that was gained during the presentation. Results pending.
