Abstract: Nursing students may feel uncomfortable managing post-operative patients with deep vein thromboses. The purpose of this project was to use simulation and lecture to improve knowledge and confidence of sophomore nursing students who will likely be required to manage deep vein thromboses. After classroom instruction, students participated in an unfolding case study simulation coupled with an interactive guide about deep vein thromboses nursing management. A post-survey was given to the participating students to determine their confidence levels and learning effectiveness. Results pending.
