Abstract: Children involved with the system most likely have been involved in a traumatic experience. The individuals that work with these kids are not being properly trained on how to handle their trauma. The workers need to have the tools to make sure they do not re-traumatize the child. This paper dives deep into how trauma informed care can make a difference in the families and children that social workers are involved with.
