Abstract: Study of a cobalt complex bearing bis(phosphinomethyl)pyrrolide pincer ligand and its catalytic reactivity in hydrogenation reaction of aldehydes. Refinement of the synthesis procedure of the complex, optimization of reaction condition (solvent, base, temperature, time, hydrogen pressure, and catalyst loading), substrate scope of over 20 substrates, discovery and characterization of 3 new complexes for in-depth mechanistic study.
