Abstract: Sleep related workplace accidents and errors cost organizations $31 billion each year. The purpose of this educational project was to educate sophomore nursing students about how lack of sleep affects the body, academic performance, and their future nursing practice. Then the students were advised on strategies to improve sleep. A powerpoint lecture was presented to a sophomore nursing class and included videos and interactive quizzes to help reinforce the content learned. Verbal feedback included ratings on performance as well as comments on possible improvements.
