Emily Vander Arkholds an MFA in writing, specifically for children and young adults, from Spalding University. She is a full-time lecturer at Lake Michigan College, locatedin the southwest corner of the Lower Peninsula. She believes that children should be instilled with a love of nature from an early age so that when they are grown they will guide the future in ways that preserve the Earth for generations to come.
