  • Kerri Modry-Mandell

    Dr. Kerri Modry-Mandellis a Faculty Member in the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. Her background is in Pediatric Psychology and Family Studies and Human Development, having received her doctorate fromThe University of Arizona. Dr. Modry-Mandell teaches a variety of graduate/undergraduatecourses including Designing Educational and Therapeutic Environments, Pediatric Psychology, Child Health Seminar and Fieldwork, and Developmental Psychopathology andAdaptation. Her scholarly and clinical interests focus on child health, families, and culture. Primary research interests include psychosocial aspects of childhood cancer and how cultural factors influence family functioning and adaptation to pediatric chronic illness

  • Leah Harrigan

    Leah Harrigan will receive her master’s in Child Study and Human Development with a Concentration in Clinical Developmental Health and Psychology in spring 2015. An assistant teacher and tutor, she has worked in preschool, elementary, and middle-school classrooms providing instruction, mentorship support, and enrichment-based after-school programs. Her interest in optimizing children’s learning environments was strengthened upon teaching at the Eliot-Pearson Children’s School at Tufts University, a lab school based on a socio-constructivist model of teaching and learning that features a natural playground. In addition to studying optimal learning environments for children, her primary interests include children’s social and emotional development supported by positive psychological frameworks.
