Abstract
This personal essay describes the ways in which I modifief my teaching approach to create a more inclusive and accessible learning environment for an increasingly diverse student population. I provide specific examples of strategies I used to facilitate this process. Ultimately, by addressing the hidden curriculum and modifying my course design and materials, I fostered an environment that allowed for greater appreciation of diverse perspectives and increased student engagement.
