Academic Footprints in the Sand

Abstract

I discuss an innovation in teaching that I have implemented in a lower-level and upper-level undergraduate courses to promote engagement. I call the innovation Report Back, and it involves having students take a principle covered during that week and collect the responses from a set of volunteers. I discuss the structure of the Report Back activity and its subsequent effect on student engagement.
