Abstract

Service learning pedagogy that integrates teaching, learning, service, scholarship, and research is at the core of the design professions. This is reflected in the growing number of community design centers across the U.S.; and there is evidence of community-engaged scholarship and service-learning pedagogy efforts in programs and projects within the design fields (architecture, landscape architecture, and planning).
