Abstract: Lipid rafts are found in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cell membranes. Lipid rafts have the ability to maintain membrane physical properties over fluctuating temperatures and other environmental conditions. These rafts act like a buffer, helping to counteract changes in the bilayer of a cells membrane.
