Abstract: Within the United States, there is approximately 400,000 youth in the child welfare system. This study examines the LGBTQ+ youth in the child welfare system. These youth are overrepresented and their needs often go unnoticed. With the results collected, further exploration of the training and cultural competence that the social workers and caseworkers are receiving regarding this population.
