Author Biography

  • R. Alan Wight

    R. Alan Wight, Ph.D., received his doctorate in Educational Studies from the University of Cincinnati in 2015. He teaches a variety of Education, Social Science, Food, and Agriculture courses at the University of Cincinnati, the Christ College of Nursing, Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, and Xavier University. Alan’s dissertation examines the types of learning and education that occur within Community Supported Agriculture programs. As an environmental sociologist and educator, he works with schools and communities to promote sustainable agriculture and raise our collective food consciousness. His recent publications and community asset maps include: Who Is Training Farmers in the CORV Foodshed, Camp Washington Art and Mobile Produce(map), and Ecology, Energy, and Alternative Agriculture: A New Synthesis.
