Evaluation of Housing Floor Plans with Regard to Meeting Family Needs

Abstract

The living conditions of families with children can be improved merely by a more suitable division of their living space. In Frankfurt a.Main, West Germany six government-subsidized dwellings were built according to more innovative floor plans than normally used for government housing, and an empirical study was conducted on how well they met the anticipated needs of the families occupying them.
