    Louise Chawla is Professor Emerita in the Program in Environmental Design, University of Colorado Boulder in the United States. She remains an active member of the Community Engagement, Design and Research Center in the design program, as well as Growing Up Boulder, a university/city government/school district partnership to involve children and youth in participatory urban design and planning. Her publications focus on children in cities, children and nature, and the development of active care for the environment.
