Clara Bergamini received her MA in history from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She is currently pursuing her PhD in history at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she is researching the social history of disaster in Japan from the late 19th to the mid 20th centuries. Her thematic interests include the history of disaster, imperialism, nationalism, folklore, memory, and memorialization.
