Abstract

*Focus on Latin America | Research Articles

This health promotion project trained high school teachers about HIV/AIDS in a series of participatory workshops. The teachers then worked with youth leaders in local schools to create health promotion activities and exhibitions to engage other youth in the schools. Activities included the creation and design of graphic material such as school newspapers, posters, comics, and leaflets. In addition, youth created interactive activities such as plays, broadcasts and songs which were then introduced to the community at large. The project impacted youth, adults, and institutions, and achieved many health promotion objectives.
