Abstract

In this essay, I detail my personal experience with online instruction when COVID-19 forced me to be innovative during the Spring 2020 semester. Instructing a course with freshmen and sophomores who lacked experience learning online, I “adjusted my sails” and helped navigate their final assignments of our course. The online versions of these assignments allowed me to rethink the benefits afforded by the flexibility online instruction offers me and my students.
