Speed-reading Made Easy

Abstract

This paper advocates and illustrates an unusual typography, which promises to make speed reading easier, faster, and more reliable. It is suggested that computers be used to prepare text in this form.

  • W. S. Brown
    W. S. Brown is head of the Computing Mathematics Research Department at Bell Telephone Laboratories (Murray Hill, N.J. 07974). He received his advanced degrees in physics and theoretical physics at Yale and Princeton. For the past 10 years Dr. Brown has been interested primarily in the application of computers to mathematics and to information transfer.
