On Open Structures and the Crisis of Meaning, a Dialogue:

Abstract

This animated conversation ranges from discussion of the overt questioning of understanding, meaning and the validity of the art situation to the conscious, recurrent renewal of "crisis" as a catalyst for the arts. Topics addressed include: the requirements of culturing, the relationship between randomness and the unavoidable reconstitution of meaning as well as the frustrated expectation of the spectator within a deliberately "non-structured" art situation.
