  3. Vol. 59 (2025): Volume 59 Yearbook
Elements from a journal’s figures are printed on top of each other in black over gray and over a red area inscribed in the gray area. Titling sits atop in white: Visible Language, volume 59, 2025, with number 1 April, number 2 August, and number 3 December all listed.

Editorial

What is this? It appears to be a four-by-four grid, including graphic material, but it is largely inscrutable. It turns out, if you must know, that these are examples of figures on pages of Visible Language, with the surrounding structure and text excised. And this is why it’s difficult to gauge. There is clearly a book spread, and some highways signs. Otherwise, it’s simply visual material.
